ENGINE
The powerful AGCO SISU POWER 8.4L (514 cu. in) engines with e3 SCR technology used in the DT Series are Tier III emissions compliant and feature Electronic Engine Management 3 (EEM3). Not only does EEM3 assist these engines in meeting today’s emission certification, but it also provides unmatched performance in the field. Furthermore, e3 SCR technology treats the exhaust with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), which breaks nitrogen oxides (NOx) down to harmless nitrogen and water. Unlike exhaust gas recirculation systems, SCR occurs outside of the engine so the engine’s power and torque are not sacrificed to achieve emission control. The e3 system takes take of emissions after the engine makes all of the power possible from the fuel used.
The unique EEM3 engine management feature allows the engine to communicate with the fuel pump and other systems on the tractor, adjusting the amount and timing of fuel injected in relation to engine speed and load. The result is more power, a broader torque curve and improved fuel economy.
All DT Series engines are turbocharged and air-to-air intercooled, feature high-pressure common rail injection from Bosch, the industry leader in high pressure injection systems, are equipped with 24 valve heads for increased fuel flow and more efficient combustion, and are much quieter and fuel efficient than previous models. |
